Nihari is a slow-cooked stew that is deeply flavorful and comforting. Traditionally eaten as a breakfast dish, it is loved for its rich gravy and tender meat.
Ingredients:
- 1 kg beef (shank preferred)
- 2 onions (sliced)
- 2 tbsp flour (for thickening)
- 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- Nihari spice mix
- Salt and oil
- Fresh ginger (julienned)
- Green chilies and coriander
Instructions:
- Heat oil and fry onions until golden.
- Add beef and ginger-garlic paste, cook until browned.
- Add nihari spices and water, then simmer on low heat for 4–5 hours.
- Mix flour with water and add to the stew for thickness.
- Cook until meat is very tender and gravy is rich.
Serving:
Garnish with ginger, green chilies, and coriander. Serve with naan.
